Kisiwa on the Beach is seeking a dedicated Childcare Nanny Caregiver to join our extended family, offering flexible hours to support our guests and occasional resort needs within the beautiful setting of Kitongani, Paje, Zanzibar. Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, loving, and safe care for children of various ages, from infants to pre-teens.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities, including creative play, educational games, reading, and outdoor activities.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks, adhering to any dietary restrictions or allergies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe play and rest environment for children.
- Assist with personal care routines, including diapering, potty training, bathing, and dressing as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all child safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Communicate effectively and discreetly with parents regarding children's daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
- Manage children's sleep schedules and nap times with consistency and care.
- Organize and supervise outings to local, child-friendly attractions if authorized and deemed safe.
- Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and childcare needs based on guest requirements and resort demands.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional childcare experience, preferably in a home, resort, or hospitality setting.
- Demonstrated ability to care for children of diverse age groups, including infants and toddlers.
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken); proficiency in Swahili is a significant advantage.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification for infants and children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm, patient, and professional demeanor.
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities.
- Ability to maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment.
- Reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and discreet with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Legal right to work in Tanzania and valid local clearances.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Experience working with children from various cultural backgrounds.
- References from previous childcare positions that highlight reliability and competence.
- Basic knowledge of local culture and traditions in Zanzibar.
- Ability to swim and supervise children safely near water (e.g., resort pool, beach) with appropriate certifications.
- Prior experience in a luxury hotel or resort setting.
