Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties in all areas of the church, including sanctuaries, chapels, offices, meeting rooms, washrooms, and kitchens.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and various surfaces with appropriate cleaning agents.
- Vacuum carpets thoroughly, and sweep and mop hard floors to remove dirt and debris.
- Clean and sanitize washrooms, ensuring all facilities are hygienic and replenishing supplies like toilet paper and soap.
- Empty waste bins and dispose of garbage and recycling in designated containers.
- Wash windows and interior glass surfaces to maintain clarity and brightness.
- Clean and maintain kitchen and fellowship hall areas, including counters, sinks, and appliances.
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards immediately to the appropriate supervisor.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and church policies regarding cleaning practices.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as required, such as preparation for large events or seasonal deep cleaning tasks.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial services, whether formal or informal.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy with access to sensitive areas.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
