Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join our thriving team in Newhaven, Edinburgh, for immediate hiring. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the detailed design and analysis of civil engineering infrastructure projects.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, specifications, and tender documents.
- Ensure all project designs comply with relevant UK codes, industry standards, and health & safety regulations.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, reporting progress to senior management.
- Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, local authorities, and other key stakeholders.
- Conduct thorough site visits, surveys, and feasibility studies as required for project initiation and delivery.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous professional development of the team.
- Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and other engineering tools for design and modelling.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate experience in civil engineering design and project delivery.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D for infrastructure design.
- Strong understanding of UK design standards, regulations, and planning processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information clearly, both written and verbally.
- Proven capability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
- Full UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or actively working towards professional accreditation with a relevant institution (e.g., ICE).
- Experience with flood risk assessment, hydraulic modelling, or sustainable drainage systems (SuDS).
- Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) methodologies and software.
- Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM PMQ).
