Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of claims from first notification of loss through to final resolution, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct thorough investigations, gather necessary documentation, and liaise with relevant parties (clients, brokers, legal counsel, adjusters) to assess claim validity and quantum.
- Negotiate settlements effectively and fairly, striving for optimal outcomes for both clients and the company, while maintaining strong relationships.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date claim records, ensuring compliance with data protection and internal audit standards.
- Provide clear, empathetic, and timely communication to clients, guiding them through the claims process and managing expectations.
- Identify and escalate complex or high-value claims to senior management, providing comprehensive reports and recommendations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of claims handling processes and participate in training initiatives to enhance team capabilities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Claims Manager or Senior Claims Handler, preferably within the insurance or financial services sector.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation and mediation skills, with a track record of successful claim resolutions.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and German (C1 level minimum).
- Proficiency in claims management software and MS Office Suite.
- In-depth understanding of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks governing claims in Germany/EU.
