Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and polishing surfaces in commercial and domestic settings.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to the highest hygiene standards.
- Empty waste bins, replace liners, and manage waste disposal appropriately.
- Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels.
- Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment safely and effectively (e.g., vacuum cleaners, floor polishers).
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, including COSHH guidelines for chemical use.
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Manage cleaning schedules efficiently to ensure all tasks are completed within designated timeframes.
- Ensure all cleaning materials and equipment are stored safely and correctly after use.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in commercial and/or domestic cleaning (minimum 1 year).
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, and their safe use.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good physical stamina and mobility.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal cleaning qualifications (e.g., NVQ in Cleaning & Support Services).
- Valid UK driving license and access to own transport (due to varied client locations).
- Experience with specialist cleaning equipment (e.g., carpet cleaners, pressure washers).
- DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Previous experience working for a cleaning contractor or agency.
