Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties in commercial settings (offices, retail spaces, common areas) and private homes, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping.
  • Clean and sanitise restrooms, kitchens, and other high-traffic areas, ensuring a hygienic environment.
  • Empty waste bins and transport waste to disposal areas.
  • Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels.
  • Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors to a streak-free standard.
  • Operate various cleaning equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, including COSHH guidelines, for the safe use of cleaning products.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies are low.
  • Follow specific cleaning checklists and schedules for each client site.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with clients and colleagues.
  • Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in commercial or domestic cleaning.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a thorough approach to work.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and their safe application.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working for a cleaning contractor or agency.
  • Knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
  • Full UK driving license and access to reliable transport (advantageous for domestic sites).
  • Certification in professional cleaning techniques.
