Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping floors in commercial and domestic settings.
- Clean and sanitise restrooms, kitchens, and other communal areas to high standards of hygiene.
- Empty waste bins, manage recycling, and ensure proper waste disposal procedures are followed.
- Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, and other consumables.
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors, ensuring streak-free results.
- Maintain cleaning equipment in good working order, reporting any malfunctions or repair needs promptly.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, COSHH guidelines, and company policies at all times.
- Manage time effectively to complete all assigned tasks within scheduled periods and client expectations.
- Communicate proactively with clients or supervisors regarding cleaning needs, specific requests, or any issues encountered.
- Perform deep cleaning tasks as required, which may include carpet cleaning, oven cleaning, and external area maintenance.
Required Skills
- Proven reliability and punctuality in all assigned duties.
- Excellent attention to detail and a thorough approach to cleaning tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a cooperative team.
- Good time management and organisational skills to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently.
- Basic understanding of various cleaning techniques and the appropriate use of cleaning products.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 6 months) in commercial or domestic cleaning roles.
- Full UK driving license and access to own transport, particularly advantageous for domestic cleaning rounds.
- Knowledge of COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations and safe handling of chemicals.
- Ability to use various professional cleaning equipment (e.g., floor polishers, carpet cleaners, steam cleaners).
- Certification in cleaning and hygiene standards (e.g., BICSc).
