This position demands reliability, discretion, and the crucial ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a coordinated team, adapting seamlessly to different cleaning requirements, varying premises layouts, and evolving schedules throughout the week. We particularly value proactive individuals who can intuitively identify and address cleaning needs efficiently, consistently contributing to the seamless and exceptional operation of various premises under our care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and polishing surfaces in offices, residential units, and hotel rooms.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to the highest hygiene standards.
  • Empty waste bins, dispose of rubbish safely, and replace bin liners.
  • Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces, ensuring a streak-free finish.
  • Monitor and report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to supervisors.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, including the proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management of stock levels.
  • Ensure all assigned areas are clean, tidy, and presentable at the end of each shift.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers (where applicable), and carpet extractors safely and effectively.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in commercial cleaning or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of cleaning techniques and equipment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g., COSHH awareness).
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • High level of attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Good verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience cleaning in hotel or hospitality environments.
  • Full UK driving license (advantageous for travelling between sites).
  • First Aid certification.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
