This position demands reliability, discretion, and the crucial ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a coordinated team, adapting seamlessly to different cleaning requirements, varying premises layouts, and evolving schedules throughout the week. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and polishing surfaces in offices, residential units, and hotel rooms.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to the highest hygiene standards.
- Empty waste bins, dispose of rubbish safely, and replace bin liners.
- Replenish supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces, ensuring a streak-free finish.
- Monitor and report any maintenance needs or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, including the proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management of stock levels.
- Ensure all assigned areas are clean, tidy, and presentable at the end of each shift.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers (where applicable), and carpet extractors safely and effectively.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or similar roles.
- Strong understanding of cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g., COSHH awareness).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- High level of attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience cleaning in hotel or hospitality environments.
- Full UK driving license (advantageous for travelling between sites).
- First Aid certification.
