Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and polishing surfaces in assigned areas, ensuring thoroughness.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to the highest hygiene and aesthetic standards, including fixtures and appliances.
- Empty waste bins, replace liners, and ensure proper disposal of waste and recyclables according to established procedures.
- Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and hand sanitizers proactively.
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors, ensuring streak-free results.
- Operate various cleaning equipment, such as floor buffers, carpet cleaners, and pressure washers, following safety guidelines (training will be provided as necessary).
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, malfunctions, or safety hazards observed during cleaning to the supervisor promptly and accurately.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies, including the correct use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain an organized inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when stock levels are low to ensure continuous availability.
- Assist with special cleaning projects, deep cleans, and seasonal cleaning tasks as required by client specifications.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 6 months) in cleaning or custodial services, demonstrating reliability and attention to detail.
- Solid knowledge of various cleaning chemicals, supplies, and their safe handling and application.
- Ability to competently operate basic cleaning equipment and tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and thoroughness in completing all assigned tasks.
- Highly reliable, punctual, and well-organized with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Good physical condition and stamina to perform demanding tasks that may include lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations pertinent to cleaning operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Previous experience specifically in a hospitality, commercial, or large residential cleaning environment.
- Valid driver's license (an asset, as some client sites may require local travel for errands).
- Bilingualism (English/French) is considered a significant advantage for communication in some client settings in Quebec.
