Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee and optimize our client’s diverse fleet operations, based near London Bridge. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive fleet management strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of fleet vehicles, including procurement, registration, maintenance, repair, and disposal.
- Manage fleet budgets, analyse costs, and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant UK transport laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., Operator Licensing, tachograph regulations).
- Implement and monitor robust health and safety protocols for all fleet operations and drivers.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with external suppliers, garages, and service providers.
- Monitor vehicle performance, fuel consumption, and operational efficiency using telematics and data analysis.
- Manage driver training, licensing, and performance, fostering a culture of safe and responsible driving.
- Coordinate vehicle breakdowns and roadside assistance, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all fleet-related activities, inspections, and compliance documentation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in fleet management (minimum 5 years).
- In-depth knowledge of UK transport legislation and compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair processes.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in fleet management software and telematics systems.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Valid UK driving licence (or equivalent transferable licence).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Road Haulage.
