Career.zycto is seeking an accomplished and highly motivated Cloud Migration Engineer to join our dynamic team in Cardonald, Glasgow. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in guiding our clients through their journey to the cloud, ensuring seamless, secure, and efficient transitions of their critical applications and data. We are looking for an individual with a deep understanding of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, Azure, or GCP, and a proven track record in planning, executing, and optimizing cloud migration strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and execute comprehensive cloud migration strategies for diverse client environments (on-premise to cloud, cloud-to-cloud).
- Assess existing IT infrastructure and applications to identify migration pathways, dependencies, and potential risks, proposing optimal cloud solutions.
- Develop and implement automated migration tools and scripts using IaC principles (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) to streamline and accelerate migration processes.
- Architect secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions on leading platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, adhering to best practices.
- Perform rigorous post-migration validation, performance tuning, and optimization of migrated workloads to ensure stability and efficiency.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including solution architects, network engineers, security specialists, and project managers.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Document detailed migration procedures, architectural designs, and operational runbooks for future reference and knowledge transfer.
- Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies, industry best practices, and security trends to continuously enhance our service offerings and technical capabilities.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in cloud infrastructure and successful cloud migration projects.
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including their core services and migration tools.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (VPC/VNet, VPN, DNS), security best practices (IAM, firewalls), and various data migration techniques.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and/or serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, and attention to detail in complex technical environments.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator Associate, GCP Professional Cloud Architect).
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies, including integration patterns and management tools.
