Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Communications Officer with a strong emphasis on PR support to join our vibrant team in Pipeline, Nairobi. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping our public image, enhancing brand visibility, and driving positive media engagement. You will work closely with our leadership and marketing teams to develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that resonate with our target audiences, from job seekers to corporate clients. The successful candidate will be a proactive communicator, adept at crafting compelling narratives and managing various public relations activities. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement PR strategies aligned with company objectives and brand guidelines.
  • Draft and edit compelling press releases, media advisories, speeches, and other PR materials.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media contacts, journalists, and industry influencers.
  • Monitor media coverage, analyze PR campaign effectiveness, and report on key metrics.
  • Assist in planning and executing corporate events, press conferences, and media briefings.
  • Manage and update corporate communication channels, including social media platforms and the company website.
  • Support internal communications initiatives to ensure consistent messaging across the organization.
  • Conduct research and stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and public perception.
  • Prepare communication plans and materials for crisis management, under guidance from senior management.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to ensure integrated communication efforts.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Proven experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in social media management for corporate branding and PR.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A solid understanding of media landscape in Kenya and PR best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience using PR monitoring and analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with the HR or recruitment industry.
  • Portfolio of successful PR campaigns or published works.
  • Knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) for basic content creation.
