Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while upholding client dignity and privacy.
- Assist clients with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and techniques as required.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with self-administration as per care plans and training.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met.
- Perform light household duties, including laundry, tidying, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
- Offer companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in meaningful conversations and activities.
- Monitor and observe changes in clients' health, behavior, or well-being, reporting concerns promptly to the care coordinator.
- Document care provided accurately and maintain confidential client records.
- Adhere strictly to individualized care plans, company policies, and provincial health standards.
- Assist clients with errands, appointments, and community outings as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven empathy, compassion, and patience in a caregiving role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Reliable and punctual with strong time management abilities.
- Basic understanding of health and safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Caregiver, Home Health Aide (HHA), Personal Support Worker (PSW), or Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) program.
- Minimum of 1 year of paid experience in a community care or similar caregiving setting.
- Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR certification.
- Experience working with diverse populations or individuals with specific health conditions (e.g., dementia, disability).
- Proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset.
