Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking an exceptionally talented and visionary Concept Artist to join our innovative team in Barnet, London. Your primary role will involve working closely with art directors, game designers, and project leads to translate initial conceptual ideas, narratives, and gameplay mechanics into stunning visual forms. You will be responsible for creating the foundational visual language that guides all subsequent art production, crafting everything from heroic characters and intricate props to breathtaking environments and dynamic visual effects. We are seeking an individual who possesses not only a strong foundation in traditional art principles—including an exceptional understanding of anatomy, perspective, light, shadow, and colour theory—but also mastery of contemporary digital painting tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, or Procreate.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop compelling concept art, illustrations, and visual designs for characters, environments, props, and vehicles across multiple artistic styles.
- Collaborate closely with art directors, game designers, and project stakeholders to understand project vision and creative briefs.
- Translate abstract ideas and written descriptions into clear, evocative visual representations using digital painting techniques (e.g., Photoshop, Procreate, Clip Studio Paint).
- Create detailed mood boards, storyboards, and style guides to establish the overall look and feel of projects.
- Iterate rapidly on designs based on feedback, maintaining artistic integrity while meeting project deadlines.
- Ensure consistency in visual style and quality throughout all concept art deliverables.
- Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to creative problem-solving.
- Research and gather visual references to inspire and inform designs, ensuring cultural sensitivity and authenticity where applicable.
- Mentor junior artists and share best practices within the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and artistic growth.

Required Skills
- Exceptional portfolio showcasing strong foundational art skills (anatomy, perspective, composition, colour theory)
- Proficiency in digital painting software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, Procreate)
- Proven ability to design captivating characters, environments, and props across various genres
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling and narrative development
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to articulate artistic decisions clearly
- Demonstrated ability to iterate quickly and adapt to changing creative requirements
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Fine Arts, Illustration, Graphic Design, or a related field
- Experience working on shipped titles in video games, film, animation, or interactive media
