Job Description

Join the esteemed team at Golden Peacock Resort Hotel as a Concierge Helper, a pivotal part-time role dedicated to enhancing our guests’ stay through exceptional service and support. Your day will involve a variety of tasks, from warmly greeting guests upon arrival and assisting with luggage handling to providing accurate and insightful information about our resort’s extensive facilities, local attractions, and efficient transportation options within Beira and beyond. You will play a key role in maintaining the pristine appearance and inviting atmosphere of our lobby and front desk area, ensuring it always reflects the high standards of our brand and offers a serene environment for our guests. This role requires an individual who is exceptionally proactive, possesses a keen eye for detail, and demonstrates outstanding communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to interact effectively with guests and colleagues. You’ll be working closely with the Front Desk and Concierge teams, supporting them in delivering seamless service, and occasionally running essential errands to facilitate guest requests or operational needs, ensuring every aspect of their stay is smooth and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet guests upon arrival and departure, offering assistance with a friendly demeanor and a welcoming smile.
  • Efficiently assist guests with luggage handling, ensuring prompt and careful delivery to their rooms.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information about hotel services, facilities, local attractions, dining options, and transportation schedules.
  • Support the Concierge and Front Desk teams with various tasks, including running errands, delivering messages, and handling small administrative duties.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, tidiness, and sophisticated atmosphere of the lobby, entrance, and concierge desk areas.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries and requests, escalating complex issues to the appropriate department with clarity.
  • Assist with package and mail handling for guests, ensuring secure and timely delivery.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying and addressing guest needs, anticipating their requirements where possible.
  • Adhere strictly to all hotel policies, safety standards, and guest service guidelines to ensure a consistent high-quality experience.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills in both Portuguese and English.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a pleasant, approachable, and professional personality.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospitality environment.
  • Good physical stamina for standing, walking, lifting luggage, and performing duties throughout shifts.
  • Basic computer proficiency for information lookup and simple administrative tasks.
  • A keen eye for detail and a proactive attitude towards guest satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a hospitality or customer service role, preferably in a hotel or resort setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of local Beira attractions, cultural sites, and transportation networks.
  • Ability to speak additional languages (e.g., French, Swahili, Sena) is a significant advantage.
  • A valid Mozambican driving license with a clean record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
