Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sub-grade and formwork for concrete pouring, ensuring proper alignment and elevation.
- Place, level, and screed freshly poured concrete using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Apply floats and trowels to achieve smooth and level concrete surfaces on slabs.
- Operate power trowels, vibrators, and other specialized equipment efficiently and safely.
- Monitor curing processes and apply curing compounds or covers as needed.
- Cut expansion joints using hand tools or power saws.
- Inspect finished surfaces for flaws, addressing imperfections to meet quality standards.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and regulations on the job site.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, supervisors, and other team members.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a Concrete Finisher, specifically with slab work.
- Proficiency in operating power screeds, vibrators, power trowels, and hand tools.
- Strong understanding of concrete properties, mixes, and curing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Excellent physical stamina and strength for demanding manual labor.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites within the Lauderhill area.
