Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated County Officer to join our vibrant team in Meru, Meru County. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of assigned community development projects within Meru County.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local government officials, community leaders, stakeholders, and beneficiaries.
- Conduct regular field visits to project sites to oversee activities, provide technical support, and gather feedback.
- Facilitate community mobilization and engagement processes, ensuring active participation and ownership of projects by local populations.
- Prepare comprehensive progress reports, financial accountability statements, and documentation for all project activities.
- Monitor project budgets, expenditure, and resource allocation, ensuring efficient and responsible use of funds.
- Identify potential challenges and risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies in a timely manner.
- Represent Career.zycto at county-level meetings, workshops, and forums.
- Contribute to the development of new project proposals and fundraising initiatives.
- Ensure strict adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines in all activities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in project management and community development, preferably within Kenya.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and work effectively with diverse community groups and local authorities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Swahili.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively within Meru County.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with monitoring and evaluation frameworks and tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK).
- Familiarity with local Meru culture, socio-economic context, and governance structures.
- Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
