Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport packages, documents, and goods to designated locations within the Mountain Brook and Birmingham areas.
- Adhere strictly to assigned delivery schedules and routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service during all interactions with clients and recipients.
- Accurately complete delivery logs, maintain records of packages, and obtain necessary signatures.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle (if company-provided) or personal vehicle to ensure safety and operational readiness.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding any delays, issues, or changes in delivery status.
- Handle packages with care, ensuring their integrity from pickup to delivery.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Manage time effectively to maximize delivery efficiency and meet service commitments.
Required Skills
- Valid state Driver's License (Class D or equivalent)
- Clean driving record for at least the past three years
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs comfortably
- Proficiency with GPS devices and navigation apps
- High school diploma or GED
- Reliable personal vehicle (if company vehicle not provided) with valid insurance
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a courier, delivery driver, or in a related logistical role
- Familiarity with the Mountain Brook and greater Birmingham road network
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance
