We partner with leading construction and property maintenance firms across Warriston and wider Edinburgh, offering a variety of exciting projects from residential repairs to commercial installations. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect roofs to determine the best course of action for repair or replacement.
- Measure and cut roofing materials, including shingles, tiles, slate, and metal sheets, to fit specific dimensions.
- Install, repair, or replace various roofing systems such as pitched roofs, flat roofs, and green roofs.
- Apply waterproof materials like tar, asphalt, or modified bitumen to protect against weather elements.
- Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, including hammers, saws, drills, and specialized roofing equipment.
- Perform guttering and downpipe installation or repair as required.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering strictly to health and safety protocols on all sites.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and site managers to ensure project success.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to roofing structures and materials.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in roofing installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in working with various roofing materials (e.g., slate, tile, felt, lead, EPDM, GRP).
- Strong understanding of roofing construction principles and techniques.
- Ability to work confidently and safely at heights.
- Excellent physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Valid UK Driving License.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- CSCS card or equivalent health and safety certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Roofing occupations.
- Experience with specialist roofing systems (e.g., green roofs, solar panel integration).
- First Aid certification.
- Proven experience leading a small team or mentoring apprentices.
