Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver packages to designated locations within Portsmouth and surrounding areas.
- Adhere to assigned routes and delivery schedules, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Operate company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, strictly following all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Load and unload packages with utmost care, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage during transit.
- Utilize handheld scanners and mobile applications for accurate package tracking, proof of delivery, and efficient route management.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or any unforeseen issues.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs or concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional company vehicle at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto with integrity and professionalism.
- Manage delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately and meticulously.
Required Skills
- Valid UK Driving License (Category B or equivalent) with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Clean driving record with no major endorsements or previous driving bans.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, minimum of 12 months.
- Excellent knowledge of Portsmouth and surrounding areas roads, routes, and traffic patterns.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple deliveries efficiently.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 25 kg regularly and safely.
- Proficiency in using GPS devices, delivery applications, and smartphones for navigation and tracking.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a polite and helpful demeanor.
- Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing outstanding service.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also collaborate effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with multi-drop deliveries and high-volume routes.
- Familiarity with various delivery tracking and logistics software.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for performing simple vehicle checks.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience driving Long Wheelbase (LWB) vans.
