Key Responsibilities
- Supervise students in classrooms during the absence of teaching staff, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
- Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions, ensuring students remain focused and on task.
- Effectively manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, promoting respect and positive engagement.
- Respond to student questions and provide appropriate support, clarifying tasks and encouraging independent learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and any behavioural incidents, reporting as required.
- Report any safeguarding concerns or significant incidents to appropriate senior staff members immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all school policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety and safeguarding.
- Build positive and professional relationships with students, school staff, and parents/guardians where appropriate.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging diverse groups of students.
- Strong classroom management and behaviour management abilities, maintaining control with a positive approach.
- Ability to engage and motivate students, fostering a positive attitude towards learning.
- Adaptability and resilience, thriving in a dynamic and sometimes challenging school environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for administrative tasks.

- Thorough understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection policies.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or similar role.
- Experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, or childcare setting.
- A degree-level qualification in any subject.
- Relevant professional development or training in education, behaviour management, or child psychology.
- A valid First Aid qualification.
