Key Responsibilities
- Conduct extensive research on current and future fashion trends, fabric innovations, and market demands to inform collection development.
- Conceptualize, sketch, and develop original designs for seasonal collections, adhering to brand aesthetics and commercial objectives.
- Create detailed technical drawings (flats) and specifications for production, including garment construction details, measurements, and embellishments.
- Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories, negotiating with suppliers as needed.
- Collaborate closely with pattern makers and sample room technicians throughout the sampling process, conducting fittings and providing clear feedback for adjustments.
- Manage the design calendar and ensure all design milestones are met within deadlines.
- Work cross-functionally with production, marketing, and sales teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, marketable, and commercially viable.
- Maintain a comprehensive library of design resources, including fabric swatches, trend reports, and inspiration boards.
- Present collection concepts and final designs to management and relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Strong freehand sketching and technical drawing abilities
- In-depth knowledge of garment construction, textiles, and fabric properties
- Excellent understanding of fashion trends, market analysis, and consumer behavior
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Proven portfolio demonstrating creative vision and technical expertise
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field
- Experience with 3D design software (e.g., CLO3D, Optitex)
