Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, DLP) for alerts, anomalies, and potential security incidents across our infrastructure.
- Perform initial triage, investigation, and analysis of security events to determine their nature, scope, and potential impact on business operations.
- Execute incident response procedures, including containment, eradication, recovery, and thorough post-incident analysis and reporting.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing support, and assist in managing remediation efforts for identified weaknesses.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive security documentation, including incident response playbooks, operational procedures, and security policies.
- Collaborate closely with IT, network, and development teams to implement security best practices and robust controls into new and existing systems.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, attack vectors, trends, and emerging technologies to anticipate and counter future risks.
- Participate in proactive threat hunting activities to identify undetected malicious activity within our networks and systems.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of security tools, processes, and policies to enhance our overall security posture.
- Provide clear, concise, and timely reports on security incidents, investigations, and overall security posture to management and relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Azure Sentinel) for log analysis and correlation.
- Hands-on experience with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions and endpoint security management.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP), operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Solid knowledge of common attack vectors, security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10), and the ability to interpret threat intelligence.
- Demonstrable experience in incident response, including analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery phases.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001) and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, GCIH, CCNA Security, AZ-500).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks and data analysis.
- Knowledge of secure coding principles, application security testing (SAST/DAST), and web application firewalls (WAFs).
- Previous experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or a similar 24/7 security monitoring environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field.
