Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily monitoring of security events, alerts, and logs from various security tools (SIEM, EDR, firewalls) to identify potential threats or anomalies.
  • Perform initial incident response activities, including investigation, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
  • Execute vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits to identify weaknesses in systems, applications, and networks.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines in adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the deployment, configuration, and management of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and anti-malware solutions.
  • Provide recommendations for security enhancements and assist in the implementation of new security solutions and controls.
  • Participate in security awareness training initiatives for employees to promote a security-conscious culture.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, applying knowledge to improve organizational security posture.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a cybersecurity role, preferably as a Security Analyst or similar.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP), operating systems (Windows, Linux), and cloud security concepts.
  • Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel) for log analysis and incident detection.
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and methodologies (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, Burp Suite).
  • Familiarity with incident response processes and frameworks (e.g., NIST, SANS).
  • Knowledge of common attack vectors and mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, GIAC certifications (e.g., GSEC, GCIH), or CISSP.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, PCI DSS, GDPR).
  • Experience with cloud security platforms (Azure Security Center, AWS Security Hub).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
