Job Description
Career.zycto is searching for an enthusiastic Part-Time Dance Teacher in Quebec City. This role offers a passionate individual the chance to inspire students of all ages and skill levels, contributing to a vibrant artistic community. We seek someone who can foster a positive, encouraging, and disciplined learning environment, delivering high-quality instruction across various dance styles. You will develop engaging lesson plans, choreograph routines, and prepare students for performances, prioritizing their safety and artistic growth. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and choreographies for various age groups and skill levels.
- Instruct students in dance techniques, theory, and performance across specified styles (e.g., ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary).
- Provide constructive feedback to students to foster their technical development and artistic expression.
- Prepare students for recitals, competitions, and other performance opportunities.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding progress and studio activities.
- Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities as required.
- Ensure the studio space is tidy and organized before and after classes.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in at least two major dance styles.
- Excellent teaching and communication skills, particularly with children and adolescents.
- Strong ability to choreograph and adapt routines.
- Demonstrated patience, enthusiasm, and a positive demeanor.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively and ensure student engagement.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Dance Education, Performing Arts, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching dance in a studio or school setting.
- Experience with various age groups, from young children to adults.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a significant asset.
