Are you a skilled Data Scientist with a passion for unraveling intricate patterns in global data? Trihydro Corporation is seeking a dynamic and analytical Data Scientist specializing in International Mobility to join our innovative team in Laramie, Wyoming. In this unique and pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing advanced analytical models and machine learning algorithms to understand, predict, and optimize trends related to the movement of environmental factors, resources, and project logistics across international borders and diverse geographical regions.

The scope of your work will encompass the analysis of vast and diverse datasets, ranging from global environmental monitoring data, supply chain logistics for international projects, to geospatial data tracking various forms of mobility relevant to our comprehensive engineering and environmental consulting services. You will be responsible for translating complex data into clear, actionable insights, thereby empowering our clients and internal teams to make informed, data-driven decisions regarding environmental impact assessments, strategic resource allocation, proactive risk management, and the optimization of project delivery within an increasingly interconnected global context. This position demands a strong foundational understanding of statistical modeling, robust machine learning algorithms, and compelling data visualization techniques, coupled with a keen interest in applying these advanced skills to solve challenges that inherently possess a cross-border or international dimension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain advanced analytical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze international mobility patterns related to environmental data, resource flows, and project logistics.
  • Clean, preprocess, and analyze large, complex, and diverse datasets from various global sources.
  • Translate complex data findings and statistical analyses into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with environmental scientists, engineers, and project managers to define data requirements and develop solutions that support project objectives with an international scope.
  • Design and create compelling data visualizations and interactive dashboards to present key findings and facilitate decision-making.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and geospatial analysis techniques to continuously improve analytical capabilities.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of data science initiatives focused on global environmental and engineering challenges.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
  • Strong experience with SQL and working with relational databases.
  • In-depth understanding of statistical modeling techniques (e.g., regression, hypothesis testing, time series analysis).
  • Proven experience with various machine learning algorithms (e.g., classification, clustering, anomaly detection).
  • Expertise in data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
  • Demonstrated ability to clean, transform, and analyze large, complex datasets efficiently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong capacity for both independent work and team collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with geospatial analysis (GIS tools like ArcGIS, QGIS, or libraries such as geopandas).
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark).
  • Previous experience in environmental consulting, logistics, international development, or a related sector.
  • Knowledge of optimization techniques and simulation modeling.
  • Experience with data governance and MLOps practices.
