Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Warehouse Engineer to join our growing team in Haymarket, Edinburgh. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our robust data warehouse infrastructure, ensuring its scalability, reliability, and performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data warehouse solutions, including data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data integration processes.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business users to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Optimise existing data pipelines and database queries for performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across all data warehouse systems.
  • Implement and manage data governance policies and procedures within the data warehouse.
  • Troubleshoot data-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data warehousing and big data technologies.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Extensive experience with designing and implementing ETL/ELT processes.
  • Proven expertise in data modelling (dimensional, star/snowflake schemas).
  • Experience with cloud data warehousing platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake).
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python) for data manipulation and automation.
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with Apache Spark or other big data processing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices for data pipelines.
