This is a vital full-time role, primarily covering week shifts, where your compassionate presence and practical support will enable individuals to maintain independence and enhance their quality of life within their homes or assisted living environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning of clients, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Administer medication reminders as per care plan and client needs.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, ensuring dietary restrictions are observed.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry, tidying common areas, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities such as reading, games, conversations, or outings.
- Monitor and report changes in client's health, behavior, or condition to the appropriate supervisor or family members.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided and any observations.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, hygiene standards, and care plans.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and transportation as needed.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months of verifiable experience in caregiving or a related support role.
- Proven ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of hygiene, safety, and infection control principles.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a Care Aide, Personal Support Worker (PSW), Health Care Aide (HCA), or equivalent certification.
- Experience working with individuals with dementia or cognitive impairments.
- Ability to speak additional languages.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Familiarity with Yellowknife and local community resources.
