Job Description

As a Delivery Driver – Logistics, you will be an integral part of our immediate hiring initiative, supporting our robust supply chain operations. You’ll be responsible for navigating predetermined routes, managing your time effectively, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency. You will embark on daily routes, delivering a variety of packages to residential and commercial clients across Morningside and wider Edinburgh. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company delivery vehicles on designated routes.
- Efficiently load and unload packages, ensuring proper handling and care.
- Navigate routes accurately using GPS and mapping tools.
- Complete all deliveries and collections within scheduled timeframes.
- Provide excellent customer service during all interactions, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanour.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and manifest documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status or issues.
- Manage cash and card payments as required, ensuring secure handling.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving license (Category B minimum) with no more than 6 points.
- Clean driving record.
- Excellent navigation and route planning skills.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move packages up to 25kg repeatedly.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A reliable and responsible work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months previous delivery driver experience.
- Familiarity with the Edinburgh area, particularly Morningside and surrounding districts.
- Experience with handheld scanning devices or delivery apps.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
