Job Description

GIG Logistics is actively seeking a dedicated Delivery Rider to join our dynamic team in Ikoyi, Lagos. In this pivotal role, you will be the face of our brand, responsible for the swift, safe, and accurate delivery of packages, documents, and goods to our valued customers within Ikoyi and its environs. This position demands excellent time management skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. You will operate a company-provided motorcycle, ensuring its proper maintenance and adherence to all traffic regulations. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of Lagos road networks, possess a valid rider’s permit, and demonstrate a proactive attitude towards problem-solving. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport packages, documents, and goods to designated locations within Ikoyi and surrounding areas.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and road regulations.
- Ensure packages are handled with utmost care to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify accuracy of delivery contents against manifest and obtain proper recipient signatures.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, and internal teams regarding delivery status and potential issues.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good working condition of the assigned motorcycle, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
- Manage daily delivery routes efficiently to meet deadlines and optimize time.
- Process cash-on-delivery payments accurately and remit funds as per company procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service, representing GIG Logistics professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Rider's Permit/Driver's License (Class A)
- Proven experience as a delivery rider or dispatch rider
- Excellent knowledge of Ikoyi and Lagos road networks
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical fitness to handle packages and ride for extended periods
- High level of responsibility and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- SSCE/OND or equivalent qualification
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and mobile delivery applications
