Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery van to transport goods to various locations within Murang’a County and surrounding areas.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries, optimizing fuel consumption and minimizing travel time.
- Load and unload packages and goods, ensuring proper handling and securing items to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or defects promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records, and manifest documents, ensuring all paperwork is complete and submitted on time.
- Verify contents of shipments against shipping documents upon loading and unloading.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally and courteously with clients.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Handle cash payments or electronic payment methods for goods delivered, if required, and ensure accurate reconciliation.
- Maintain cleanliness and good working order of the delivery vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid Kenyan driving license (Class BCE or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with vans.
