Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part-Time DevOps Engineer to join our growing technology team based in Murambinda, Manicaland Province. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for various banking applications using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions to ensure high availability and reliability of services.
  • Manage and optimize cloud resources (e.g., AWS, Azure) and on-premises server environments.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate security best practices into the development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Participate in incident response and post-mortem analysis to prevent future occurrences.
  • Implement and manage logging, monitoring, and alerting systems (e.g., ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal security policies for all IT operations.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Solid understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or extensive experience with on-premises virtualization (VMware).
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
  • Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and DNS.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Kubernetes Administrator).
  • Experience working in a financial services or other highly regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with database administration (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Understanding of security best practices and tools (SAST, DAST, WAF).
