Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement initiatives. Based in Chitungwiza, Harare Province, this pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping our organizational culture of continuous learning and professional growth. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive learning and development strategies that align with our strategic objectives and foster a high-performance environment. This is more than just a training role; it’s about crafting a future-ready workforce, identifying critical skill gaps, and deploying innovative solutions to empower our employees at every stage of their career journey. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of modern adult learning principles, a proven track record in leadership development, and the ability to drive significant organizational change through impactful learning interventions. You will work closely with senior leadership, department heads, and HR business partners to ensure our L&D programs are engaging, effective, and directly contribute to business success and employee retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive, long-term learning and development strategy aligned with Career.zycto’s business goals and future talent needs.
- Design, curate, and deliver engaging and effective learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, and soft skills enhancement.
- Assess current and future organizational training needs through surveys, interviews with employees and managers, and analysis of performance data.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of all L&D programs, utilizing key metrics and feedback to continuously improve and optimize offerings.
- Lead and mentor a small team of L&D professionals, fostering their growth and ensuring high-quality program delivery.
- Research and integrate cutting-edge learning technologies and methodologies to enhance the learning experience.
- Manage the L&D budget, ensuring cost-effective and high-impact utilization of resources.
- Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership on all matters related to talent development and organizational capability building.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, with at least 5 years in a leadership or directorial role.
- Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing large-scale L&D programs.
- Strong understanding of adult learning theories, instructional design principles, and blended learning approaches.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and other HR technologies.
- Strategic thinking with a results-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
- Certifications in areas such as instructional design, change management, or leadership coaching.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, evolving industry.
- Prior experience with digital transformation initiatives from an L&D perspective.
