Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly strategic and experienced Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement initiatives in Norton, Mashonaland West Province. This pivotal role will be instrumental in shaping our organizational culture by fostering continuous learning, skill development, and career progression across all levels of our enterprise. The Director of Learning & Development will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive L&D strategies and programs that align with our business objectives and employee growth aspirations.

You will act as a thought leader, collaborating closely with senior leadership and department heads to identify skill gaps, anticipate future talent needs, and develop innovative solutions. This role requires a blend of strategic vision, operational excellence, and a passion for people development. From curating engaging digital learning platforms to facilitating impactful in-person workshops, your influence will touch every aspect of our employees’ professional journeys. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Learning & Development strategy aligned with Career.zycto's overall business goals and talent objectives.
  • Design, implement, and manage a wide range of learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, onboarding, and compliance.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify skill gaps and future training requirements across all departments.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of L&D programs through robust metrics and feedback mechanisms, making data-driven improvements.
  • Manage the L&D budget, resources, and vendor relationships efficiently.
  • Champion a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the organization.
  • Implement and optimize learning technologies and platforms (LMS, e-learning tools) to enhance accessibility and engagement.
  • Coach and mentor internal trainers and subject matter experts to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging learning technologies, and talent development trends.
  • Collaborate with HR and senior management to integrate L&D initiatives with broader talent management strategies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, with at least 5 years in a leadership or directorial role.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating large-scale L&D programs.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and learning technologies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strategic thinking with a strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certifications in areas such as CPTD (Certified Professional in Talent Development), ATD, or relevant leadership coaching.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, evolving industry or start-up environment.
  • Familiarity with talent analytics and predictive modeling for L&D outcomes.
  • Experience with global or multi-site L&D program deployment.
