Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an accomplished and strategic Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement initiatives in Matabeleland South Province. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive learning strategies that align with our organizational goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence. You will be instrumental in identifying skill gaps, developing innovative training programs, and evaluating their effectiveness to ensure our workforce remains competitive, engaged, and highly productive. This role requires a leader who is passionate about people development, possesses a deep understanding of adult learning principles, and can translate strategic business objectives into actionable learning frameworks. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and business needs.
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative learning programs, workshops, and e-learning modules across all levels of the organization.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify skill gaps and determine appropriate learning interventions for employees.
  • Oversee the management of the learning management system (LMS) and other learning technologies to ensure efficient content delivery and tracking.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of L&D programs, making data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Manage and mentor a team of L&D professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Partner with senior leadership and HR business partners to integrate L&D initiatives into broader talent management and succession planning processes.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging learning technologies, and adult learning theories to continually enhance program offerings.
  • Manage the L&D budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and knowledge sharing throughout the organization.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a senior Learning & Development leadership role, preferably as a Director or Head of L&D.
  • Demonstrated expertise in instructional design, curriculum development, and adult learning methodologies.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in leveraging learning technologies, including LMS platforms and e-learning authoring tools.
  • Strategic thinking with a proven ability to translate business goals into effective L&D solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience in budget management and resource allocation for L&D initiatives.
  • A track record of fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Certification in coaching, change management, or specific assessment tools (e.g., DISC, MBTI).
  • Experience working in a multinational or diverse organizational environment.
  • Familiarity with talent management software and HRIS integration.
  • A portfolio demonstrating successful L&D program design and implementation.
