The Director of Learning & Development will report directly to senior leadership, playing a crucial role in shaping our human capital strategy. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with Career.zycto’s business objectives and growth ambitions.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the L&D team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring professional growth.
  • Design, develop, and oversee the execution of engaging and effective learning programs across various modalities (e.g., e-learning, blended, instructor-led, coaching).
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify skill gaps and future capability requirements for employees and client solutions.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of all learning initiatives using data-driven metrics and adjust strategies to maximize impact and ROI.
  • Manage the L&D budget, resources, and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality solutions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in learning and development, integrating them into our strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., HR, operations, sales) and external clients to understand their development needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Champion a continuous learning culture, promoting self-directed learning and knowledge sharing across the organization.
  • Oversee the selection and implementation of learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technologies.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, and curriculum development.
  • Proven track record of designing, implementing, and evaluating successful L&D programs across diverse employee groups and client needs.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop talent.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business objectives into effective learning solutions.
  • Proficiency in learning technologies, including LMS platforms and e-learning authoring tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions and demonstrate program effectiveness.
  • Experience in change management and organizational development initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in L&D, instructional design (e.g., CPTD, ATD certifications), coaching, or change management.
  • Experience working in a consulting or client-facing environment.
  • Familiarity with global learning trends and cross-cultural communication strategies.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices and compliance regulations relevant to Zimbabwe.
