Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Learning & Development to lead our talent enhancement strategies from our Plumtree office. This pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive learning programs that cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and high performance across our organization and for our client base. You will be instrumental in identifying skill gaps, forecasting future learning needs, and developing strategic initiatives that align with our business objectives and market demands in Southern Africa. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and cutting-edge L&D technologies. You will drive initiatives from conceptualization through to evaluation, ensuring maximum impact on individual and organizational growth. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Learning & Development strategy aligned with organizational goals and client needs.
- Design, implement, and manage a portfolio of innovative learning programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, and soft skills enhancement.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify skill gaps and future learning requirements across various departments and client sectors.
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technologies.
- Lead a team of L&D professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and ROI of all L&D initiatives.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging learning technologies, and talent development trends.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate L&D initiatives into broader talent management and HR strategies.
- Manage the L&D budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effectiveness of programs.
- Champion a continuous learning culture throughout the organization.
Required Skills
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing successful L&D strategies and programs.
- Deep expertise in instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and blended learning approaches.
- Strong understanding of modern learning technologies, including LMS platforms and e-learning tools.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, measure program effectiveness, and report on L&D ROI.
- Strategic thinking with a results-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in L&D (e.g., CPTD, ATD credentials).
- Experience working within a consulting environment or across diverse industries.
- Familiarity with talent management and performance appraisal systems.
- Experience in a multinational or diverse cultural environment.
