Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive R&D strategy aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing team of scientists, engineers, and researchers.
- Oversee the entire R&D project lifecycle, from conceptualization and feasibility studies to prototyping and product launch support.
- Manage the R&D budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets.
- Identify and evaluate new technologies, market trends, and scientific advancements to inform future R&D directions.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the R&D department.
- Establish and maintain robust intellectual property strategies and manage patent portfolios.
- Collaborate closely with product development, marketing, operations, and sales teams to ensure seamless integration of R&D outputs.
- Ensure all research and development activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and ethical guidelines.
- Present R&D progress, challenges, and future plans to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (e.g., Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Biotechnology, Computer Science).
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in research and development, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership or management role.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic R&D roadmaps.
- Proven track record of bringing innovative products or technologies from concept to market.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and resource allocation.
- Exceptional leadership, team-building, and interpersonal communication skills.
