Career.zycto is on the lookout for a dynamic and passionate DJ to electrify the nights at our upcoming club events in West Lethbridge. This is a fantastic part-time opportunity for an experienced DJ to showcase their talent, connect with a vibrant crowd, and become an integral part of memorable entertainment experiences. We are seeking someone who can curate an energetic atmosphere, read the room impeccably, and keep the dance floor alive with seamless transitions and a diverse selection of tracks across various genres, primarily focusing on contemporary hits, R&B, hip-hop, electronic, and classic throwbacks.
As our Club Night DJ, you will be the heartbeat of the evening, responsible for creating an immersive auditory journey for our guests. Beyond just playing music, you’ll engage with the audience, take requests where appropriate, and maintain a professional demeanor throughout your sets. This role requires not only technical proficiency with DJ equipment and software but also an innate understanding of crowd psychology and musical trends. You should be comfortable with diverse audiences and adept at adjusting your setlist on the fly to match the evolving mood of the night. Key Responsibilities
- Curate and perform engaging DJ sets for club nights, maintaining a high-energy atmosphere.
- Seamlessly mix tracks across various genres including Top 40, R&B, Hip-Hop, Electronic Dance Music, and classic hits.
- Interact with the audience, take appropriate requests, and respond to the crowd's energy levels.
- Operate and maintain professional DJ equipment, including turntables, mixers, controllers, and sound systems.
- Arrive punctually for shifts, set up equipment efficiently, and conduct sound checks.
- Collaborate with event staff and management to ensure smooth operation of club nights.
- Adhere to all venue policies, sound ordinances, and safety regulations.
- Promote a positive and inclusive environment for all attendees.
- Maintain an extensive and up-to-date music library.
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues with audio equipment during sets.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Club DJ with a strong portfolio or demo reel.
- Expert proficiency with professional DJ equipment (Pioneer CDJs, Allen & Heath mixers, etc.).
- Extensive knowledge of contemporary music genres and classics relevant to club settings.
- Exceptional beat-matching, scratching, and mixing skills.
- Strong ability to read a crowd and adapt music selections in real-time.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled performances.
- Ability to work late-night hours and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in audio engineering or music production.
- Experience using specific DJ software (e.g., Serato DJ, rekordbox, Traktor).
- Established local following or social media presence.
- Basic knowledge of lighting systems and visual effects integration.
