Key Responsibilities
- Perform engaging and dynamic DJ sets, meticulously aligning with venue themes and audience vibe to create memorable experiences.
- Masterfully operate professional DJ equipment, including mixers, turntables/CDJs, and sound systems, ensuring pristine audio quality and seamless transitions.
- Maintain a diverse, comprehensive, and up-to-date music library across multiple popular genres relevant to the Nairobi club scene (e.g., Afrobeat, Amapiano, Hip-Hop, R&B, House, Gengetone, Bongo Flava, Top 40).
- Collaborate effectively with venue management, promoters, and other artists for seamless event coordination and execution.
- Adhere strictly to club policies, operational guidelines, and scheduled set times, demonstrating punctuality and reliability.
- Actively promote performances and venue events via personal and club-designated social media channels to maximize attendance and engagement.
- Conduct minor equipment troubleshooting during performances to maintain an uninterrupted flow of music.
- Continuously research new music trends, artists, and mixing techniques to keep sets fresh, innovative, and captivating.
- Ensure timely arrival, setup, and sound check for all scheduled gigs, demonstrating a professional and prepared approach.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Club DJ with a strong portfolio or demonstrable track record of engaging performances in live settings.
- Expert proficiency in operating professional DJ software and hardware (e.g., Pioneer CDJs, Technics turntables, Serato DJ, Rekordbox, Traktor).
- Exceptional crowd reading and engagement capabilities, with a keen ability to adjust sets to maintain high energy levels.
