As the face of Career.zycto on the road, you will operate a company-provided vehicle, maintaining it to the highest standards, and executing delivery schedules with precision. Your day will involve planning routes, loading and unloading cargo, interacting with clients, and completing necessary documentation. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods and packages to various destinations.
- Adhere strictly to scheduled delivery times and routes, ensuring prompt and accurate deliveries.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the company vehicle, reporting any maintenance needs immediately.
- Load and unload cargo carefully, ensuring proper securing of items to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto professionally at all times.
- Comply with all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other logistical tasks as required during downtime.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (e.g., Class C or equivalent for light/medium vehicles)
- Clean driving record for the past 3-5 years, verifiable with official records
- Proven ability to navigate and deliver efficiently within Port Antonio and surrounding parishes
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- Commitment to safety and adherence to traffic laws
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with route optimization software or GPS navigation systems
- Previous experience in a professional delivery or logistics role
- Knowledge of local roads and traffic patterns in eastern Jamaica
- Customer service experience in a client-facing role
