Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and reliable Driver to join our dynamic logistics and delivery team in Rockfort, Kingston. This crucial role involves the safe and timely transportation of goods, packages, and materials using a company-provided vehicle. As a Driver, you will be an ambassador for Career.zycto, ensuring that all deliveries are made efficiently, accurately, and with exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for navigating assigned routes, loading and unloading items, performing routine vehicle inspections, and maintaining meticulous delivery records. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Efficiently plan and execute delivery routes, ensuring timely arrival and departure from all designated locations.
- Load, unload, and secure various types of cargo, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage during transit.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues or defects promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records of goods transported, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents encountered.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, interacting professionally and courteously with clients.
- Verify the accuracy of delivery orders with customers and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery.
- Handle delivery-related documentation, including invoices, manifests, and receipts.
- Adhere to strict schedules and deadlines, managing time effectively to meet delivery commitments.
- Communicate effectively with the dispatch team regarding route updates, delays, or challenges.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and tidy, performing basic cleaning as required.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Jamaica)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for the past 3-5 years
- Excellent knowledge of Kingston's road networks and traffic patterns
- Strong navigation and route planning abilities
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) safely
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- High level of professionalism and customer service orientation
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Punctual, reliable, and a strong sense of responsibility
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Defensive driving certification
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) or GPS tracking systems
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting
