Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Perform live DJ sets for diverse audiences, maintaining a high level of energy and engagement.
- Curate and mix music seamlessly across various genres, responding to crowd preferences and venue themes.
- Operate and troubleshoot industry-standard DJ equipment (mixers, decks, sound systems, lighting controllers).
- Collaborate with venue management and promotions teams to ensure successful events.
- Adhere to all venue policies, health and safety regulations, and licensing requirements.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, acting as an ambassador for The Garage Aberdeen.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of equipment as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of proven professional DJ experience in clubs or large venues.
- Expert proficiency with industry-standard DJ software and hardware (e.g., Pioneer CDJs, rekordbox, Serato, Traktor).
- Extensive and diverse musical knowledge across multiple genres relevant to club nights.
- Exceptional mixing, blending, and scratching skills.
- Strong ability to read a crowd and adapt music selection on the fly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialisation in specific genres (e.g., House, Techno, R&B, Commercial, DnB) that complement our programming.
- Existing social media presence or following as a DJ.
- Experience with basic lighting control systems.
- Ability to bring own professional-grade DJ equipment (though not strictly required).
