Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced DZ Truck Driver for a full-time position based in Blackburn, Prince George. This role is crucial for our clients’ logistics operations, involving the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various local and regional routes. As a DZ Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating commercial vehicles, primarily straight trucks, with a focus on timely deliveries, adherence to safety regulations, and exceptional customer service. We are looking for an individual who is not only proficient behind the wheel but also takes pride in their work, understands the importance of vehicle maintenance, and can navigate diverse conditions with professionalism and care. You will play a vital role in ensuring that goods reach their destinations intact and on schedule, contributing directly to the success of supply chains in British Columbia. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate DZ-licensed commercial vehicles, including straight trucks, for local and regional deliveries.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers, ensuring all equipment is in good working order and reporting any defects.
  • Load and unload goods, either manually or using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, transportation regulations (HOS, CVOR), and company safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery manifests, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally.
  • Keep the truck interior and exterior clean and well-maintained.
  • Assist with warehouse duties or other tasks as required, when not on the road.

Required Skills

  • Valid Ontario Class DZ Driver's License (or equivalent provincial license)
  • Clean driving abstract (CVOR and Driver's Abstract)
  • Minimum of 2 years (24 months) verifiable commercial driving experience with a DZ license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
  • Strong understanding of HOS (Hours of Service) regulations and load securement practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and highly organized.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating various types of straight trucks (e.g., reefer, flatbed, dry van).
  • Familiarity with Prince George and surrounding regional routes.
  • Forklift certification or experience.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
