Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement age-appropriate, engaging educational activities and curriculum in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Foster a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and self-expression.
- Observe, assess, and document children's progress, maintaining accurate records and tailoring activities to individual needs.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on their child's development and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
- Collaborate proactively with colleagues and management to ensure cohesive team work and continuous improvement of educational practices.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in accordance with safeguarding policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a tidy, organized, and resource-rich classroom environment.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary, adhering to established protocols.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Early Childhood Educator or similar role.
- Strong understanding of child development theories and best practices in early years education.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Creativity, imagination, and the ability to develop engaging and educational activities.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing disposition.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Current Paediatric First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one promptly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (e.g., NNEB, NVQ Level 3, CACHE Diploma, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with specific early childhood educational philosophies (e.g., Montessori, Reggio Emilia).
- Experience with digital platforms for record-keeping, observations, and parent communication.
