Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for manufacturing equipment and facilities.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for electrical faults and breakdowns.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Prepare technical specifications, reports, and documentation for electrical projects.
- Collaborate with mechanical, production, and quality teams to integrate electrical solutions seamlessly into existing processes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, energy efficiency, and cost reduction within electrical systems.
- Provide technical support and training to maintenance technicians and other staff as required.
- Manage and oversee external contractors for specialized electrical work when necessary.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical circuits, control systems (PLCs, HMIs), and power distribution.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with relevant UK electrical safety standards and regulations (e.g., BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations).
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
