Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Residential Service Electrician to join our growing team in Kileleshwa, Nairobi. As a Residential Service Electrician, you will be the face of Jommo Electricians & Suppliers, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical systems and components in residential properties. Your expertise will ensure the safety, efficiency, and reliability of electrical installations, ranging from basic wiring issues to complex system upgrades. You will engage directly with clients, providing clear explanations, professional recommendations, and accurate estimates, all while adhering to the highest standards of electrical safety and quality. Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic assessments and troubleshoot electrical issues in residential homes.
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in accordance with Kenyan electrical codes and safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
- Upgrade electrical panels, wiring, and other components to meet modern demands and safety regulations.
- Provide accurate estimates for repairs and installations, clearly communicating options and costs to clients.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and job site, ensuring proper disposal of waste.
- Educate homeowners on electrical safety practices and energy-saving solutions.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a Residential Electrician.
- Valid electrical license or certification recognized in Kenya (e.g., NCA Certificate for Electrical Works).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing residential electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of the Kenya electrical code and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Valid Kenyan driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with smart home technology installations.
- Additional safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, Working at Heights).
- Proven ability to mentor junior electricians or apprentices.
