As our specialist, you will be the guardian of our email ecosystem, responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and improving our inbox placement rates across diverse email service providers (ISPs) and spam filters. You will proactively identify potential deliverability issues, implement best practices, and collaborate closely with our marketing, IT, and compliance teams to uphold the highest standards of email hygiene and effectiveness. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and report on email deliverability metrics, including open rates, click-through rates, bounce rates, and spam complaints across various campaigns.
- Proactively identify and troubleshoot deliverability issues, implementing corrective actions to ensure optimal inbox placement.
- Manage and maintain sender reputation with major ISPs (e.g., Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo) and implement strategies to prevent blacklisting.
- Configure and manage email authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) to enhance email security and deliverability.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to optimize email content, segmentation, and sending practices for improved deliverability and engagement.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, changes in ISP policies, anti-spam legislation (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR), and new technologies related to email deliverability.
- Conduct regular audits of email lists to ensure data hygiene, identify inactive subscribers, and manage opt-out processes efficiently.
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams on email deliverability best practices and compliance requirements.
- Develop and implement strategies for A/B testing deliverability factors (e.g., subject lines, sending times, segmentation).
- Work with IT to ensure proper IP warming, domain setup, and technical configurations for email sending platforms.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of dedicated experience in email deliverability, inbox placement, or email marketing operations.
- In-depth understanding of email authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
- Proficiency with major Email Service Providers (ESPs) and their deliverability tools (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Mailchimp, HubSpot, SendGrid).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends related to email performance.
- Knowledge of IP warming strategies, sender reputation management, and blacklist monitoring.
- Familiarity with anti-spam laws and regulations (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR, POPIA).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications in email marketing or deliverability (e.g., Oracle Marketing Cloud, HubSpot Email Marketing).
