Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking an empathetic and experienced Employee Relations Officer to join our thriving HR team in Ealing, London. This unique role is specifically designed to provide exceptional support and guidance to our diverse workforce, with a particular focus on our foreign national employees. As an Employee Relations Officer, you will be instrumental in fostering a positive, fair, and productive work environment by ensuring compliance with UK employment law, company policies, and best practices, all while navigating the nuances of a multicultural workplace.

Your primary responsibility will be to manage and resolve employee relations issues, from conflict resolution and disciplinary actions to grievances and performance management. A critical aspect of this role will be to act as a trusted advisor and advocate for our international employees, offering clear guidance on UK employment regulations, visa-related queries, cultural adjustment, and ensuring their seamless integration into our company culture and the broader UK work environment. You will be a vital link, ensuring that all employees, regardless of their origin, understand their rights and responsibilities and feel heard and respected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve a wide range of employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and UK employment law, with a special emphasis on implications for foreign nationals.
  • Act as a key point of contact for international employees, assisting with queries related to visa compliance, sponsorship, right-to-work checks, and cultural integration challenges.
  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into workplace complaints, harassment claims, and policy violations, documenting findings and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on employee relations topics, diversity & inclusion, and cultural sensitivity for managers and staff.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures that promote a fair, inclusive, and compliant workplace for all employees.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee relations records and provide regular reports on ER trends and metrics.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in an Employee Relations or HR Generalist role with a strong ER focus.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust across diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct impartial investigations and maintain confidentiality.
  • Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the challenges faced by foreign nationals working in the UK.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 5 (Associate) or Level 7 (Advanced) qualification in Human Resources.
  • Experience working in a multinational company or an organization with a significant international workforce.
  • Knowledge of immigration processes and visa categories relevant to UK employment.
  • Fluency in additional languages beyond English.
