Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Employee Relations Specialist to join our thriving remote-first team. In this “Work from Anywhere” role, you will be instrumental in cultivating a fair, respectful, and productive work environment for our global workforce. As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will be the cornerstone of trust and resolution, navigating complex workplace issues with professionalism and sensitivity. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of employment law and best practices, coupled with an innate ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. Collaboration with HR Business Partners and legal counsel will be frequent, ensuring a cohesive and legally sound approach to all ER matters. Additionally, you will contribute to educational initiatives, developing and delivering training to managers and employees on ER best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including workplace investigations, grievances, and disciplinary actions, for a diverse global workforce.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to employees and managers on company policies, procedures, and employment law compliance, with consideration for various international regulations.
  • Conduct thorough, impartial, and timely workplace investigations, documenting findings and recommending appropriate, legally sound resolutions.
  • Develop and implement proactive employee relations strategies to foster a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment, specifically tailored for a remote-first organization.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and mediation sessions, promoting respectful communication and mutual understanding among team members.
  • Stay abreast of changes in employment legislation and HR best practices globally, advising on necessary policy updates and ensuring compliance.
  • Collaborate effectively with HR Business Partners, Legal counsel, and other stakeholders on complex cases and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze ER trends and data to identify systemic issues and recommend preventative measures or improvements to existing HR programs.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs on employee relations topics for managers and employees to enhance workplace effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as an Employee Relations Specialist or similar HR role.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices (familiarity with Singaporean labor law and general international employment principles preferred).
  • Exceptional conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic remote work environment.
  • High degree of empathy, integrity, and ethical conduct.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and case management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, GPHR, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with a globally distributed or remote workforce, navigating cross-cultural dynamics.
  • Experience in developing and delivering HR training programs and workshops.
  • Familiarity with various international labor laws and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, PDPA).
